Despite many improvements in its prevention and management, Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality globally with the Black Country being an outlier nationally. Lipid management is an important part of secondary prevention in CVD, but many patients remain undertreated and do not attain guideline‐recommended cholesterol levels.
In this case-based session, we aim to provide an insight into lipid optimisation strategies for secondary prevention patients, to better equip clinicians for treating patient to national targets. This will include a look at the evidence base, review on how we are currently doing within the Black Country and look at the treatment options available to optimise the management of lipids.
