A recruitment event to attract midwives and neonatal nurses to come and make a difference to families in the Black Country is being held next month.
The event has been arranged through the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) and is set for Wednesday 23 November at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill, near to the Merry Hill Centre.
Potential candidates – who must hold a current NMC registration or be on a pre-registration course – will be able to be interviewed on the day. Staff from the four Trusts that make up the LMNS: Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Hospitals Trust, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, The Dudley Group Foundation Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, are all supporting the drive and will be on hand to share details about the work going on across the LMNS.
Helen Hurst, LMNS Clinical Director of Midwifery, said: “We are finalising details but want to make sure 23 November is on people’s radars for this event.
“We believe that the Black Country is a great place to work with lots of innovation, passion and enthusiasm for those whose hearts are in midwifery and neonatal careers.”
Helen added that the aim was to recruit around 40 staff to include:
- Band 5 Neonatal Unit Nurses
- Band 5/6 Midwives for hospital and community settings
- Band 7 Midwives
- Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners
- Advanced Clinical Practitioners in Midwifery
She added: “We have a wealth of talent across our Trusts and we want to offer the opportunity to attract new colleagues to support the wonderful work we’re doing as well as bring their own ideas.”
