Local people are being invited to attend a meeting of the Black Country Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), which will meet in public for the first time this week.
The Black Country ICP is a statutory committee in the Black Country Integrated Care System (ICS) and the committee is jointly formed between the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board and the four local authorities. It brings together with health and care, other local partners including fire, police, education and voluntary sector so they can plan and deliver joined-up health and care services to help people live well and stay well.
The ICP hosted several sessions since September 2022 to develop its role, strategy and membership, as well as to seek agreement on how decisions will be made.
The first meeting in public of the ICP is being held on Thursday 18 January from 9.00am to 10.30am and will be hosted at Walsall Council House on Darwall Street, Walsall.
People can attend the meeting in person and are invited to submit their questions in advance.
Jonathan Fellows, Chair of NHS Black Country ICP, said: “The ICP is the statutory committee that sits within the local integrated care system, bringing together partner organisations who work to collectively improve the health of local people.
“At our first public meeting, which is being held this week, we will be discussing how the ICP is working to help improve outcomes in population health and healthcare, tackle inequalities and enhance productivity. It is also a great opportunity for people to find out about the work we have been doing over the past few months to serve communities in the Black Country, as well as our future plans.
“I would encourage anyone who is interested in local health issues to attend the meeting. If you have a question, please do submit it in advance and we can respond."
Members of the public who would like to attend or send in a question in advance, should email bcicb.

The ICP has produced an integrated care strategy on how to meet the health and wellbeing needs of the population in the Black Country. The strategy builds on and complements the work of the Health and Wellbeing Boards in each area but looks at the additionality that can be brought through system level working.
