Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 20 September 2023.

The first statement was prepared on 1 July 2022 when the website first launched.

In May 2023 a self-assessment took place whereby 10% of webpage content was reviewed manually. Minor issues were fixed around use of headings and alternative text on images. An online audit tool called accessibility checker deemed the website was compliant following its automated scan.

On 16 August 2023, the cabinet office notified us of an accessibility monitoring report across five webpages and one document. The report detailed issues with:

  • keyboard functionality
  • when at 200% unable to view all content sufficiently
  • when at 400% issues with reflow to fit the webpage
  • colour contrast of buttons and tabs when they received focus
  • updates to the accessibility statement.

Each of these issues have been fixed and reported back to the cabinet office within the timescales provided. The document, a newsletter from 2022, is an old newsletter and not relevant to the website and has since been removed.

On 9 January 2024, the website was audited by our web developers against the WCAG 2.2 AA regulations. Developments were required around 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured and 2.5.8 Target Size. By 30 January, these were fixed and the website was deemed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA regulations.

The statement was last reviewed on 30 January 2024. It will next be reviewed and updated on or before 20 September 2024.
