Topical corticosteroids play a major role in the treatment of many dermatologic conditions and are one of the most commonest prescribed medicines for skin conditions. Successful treatment depends on an accurate diagnosis and consideration of the steroid’s delivery vehicle, potency, frequency of application, duration of treatment, and side effects.

During this session we hope to address some of the most common questions patients may ask you, issues around long term use and safely prescribing topical steroids.

  • Differences in potency
  • Ointment or Cream?
  • Tapering down and the importance of it.
  • Issues with long term use
  • Reviewing patients
