Optimising the use of antimicrobials is a key part of the UK 5-year national action plan for tackling antimicrobial resistance.  The Black Country ICB is supporting this plan by organising a half-day workshop, with lunch provided, for practices as part of this year’s incentive scheme.

Each practice must nominate an Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) champion (a prescriber who is ideally the AMS lead for the practice), to attend the event.

The workshop takes place on Wednesday 14 June, 12pm to 4.30pm at Bescot Stadium in Walsall.

More information about the AMS workshop, including the agenda and speakers can be found on this flyer. You must register your interest by 31 May 2023 using this online Microsoft Form.

Practices attending the event will receive a prescribing data pack in advance to support their self-assessment exercise, and a work/training session during the event to assist in creating their action plan.  The workshop will also include a look at the updated TARGET antibiotics toolkit, and a workshop on applying the TARGET resources in clinical practice.  Additional resources and outreach education packs will be available to assist in disseminating information from the event to colleagues.
