How did you get to your current Role?

I first joined the Ambulance Service as a PTS Apprentice in Cheshire. upon completion of my Apprenticeship I was offered a full-time position within the Patient Transport Service (PTS). I then progressed to working as part of the Health Care Referral Team (HCRT) and shortly afterwards was offered the opportunity to undertake my AAP course leading to qualifying as an Emergency Medical Technician.

How did you get to your current role?

I joined the Ambulance Service in 2002, on a Flourish trainee Technician contract. I have since
progressed through various roles, being fortunate enough to take great opportunities as they arose. I have attended numerous courses internally & externally giving me the exposure and knowledge to fulfil my current position.

How did you get your current role?

I started WMAS in September 2019 as a Trainee HR Advisor on s Fixed Term Contract, shortly after graduating with a Masters in Human Resources Management and Business at Aston University. After approximately l yr and 6 month within the organisation, I managed to secure a permanent substantive contract as a HR Advisor. Working as a Trainee HR Advisor and obtaining a CIPD Level 7 qualification, as well as excellent mentoring from my HR colleagues, has helped me achieve my current role and to continue working closely with members of staff across the PTS and A&E sector.

How did you get to your current role?

I started my career as an Ambulance Cadet, which is like an apprenticeship now. I progressed through various roles of Technician, Paramedic, Air Crew, Clinical Supervisor and working as a senior manager across every area of the region over a 10 period. have gained various qualifications and experiences over my career since September 1990.

How did you get to your current role?

I started my career in the Ambulance Service in 2004 with the Patient Transport Service and have progressed to my current role as a Tactical Incident Commander. Following a range of development courses and multiple qualifications to support my role, I am now also undertaking my Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response MSc at Wolverhampton university. Our team has responsibility and accountabilty for the delivery of tactical level command and managing all ambulance service personnel at major and complex incidents.

How did you get to your current role?

I started in the Ambulance service in 2017 as a patient Transport Apprentice. I completed my apprenticeship and moved on to the High Dependency team where I stayed for 2 years.

During my time on the non emergency side of the service, I managed to complete my NVQ levels 2 & 3 in Healthcare Support Services. These gave me the qualifications I needed to apply for the student paramedic programme and in 2020, I was accepted onto the programme.

Trainee Technician

How did you get to your current role?

I started out as one of the Trust's first Business Administration Apprentices 11 years ago. Around 8 months into my apprenticeship, I took up the opportunity to work within Organisational Development to cover maternity leave for their administrator.

From there I progressed into several different roles within Workforce and OD that included: maintenance of staff records, 00 Administrator, Community and Staff Awards projects officer and supporting the HEI Commissioning portfolio. These roles allowed me to expand and refine a number of transferable skills, with each having Its own unique and new challenges. In summer of 2020 1 decided wanted a role that was more patient facing. I took the plunge and applied for the Trainee Technician role, for which I was successful In getting a place on the training programme and I started in November 2020.
