Clinical Skills Mentors
The Clinical Skills Mentors are experienced Registered Nurses with Practice Assessor qualifications who can provide support, guidance and sign off for a range of clinical skills including:
- Cervical cytology
- Ear irrigation
- Immunisation
- Fundamentals of General Practice Nursing
We also have access to Specialist Practitioner Qualified mentors.
The mentors can provide up to one session per week of support for the duration of your learning needs. Any clinical professional can access the mentor programme if they need sign off for a clinical skill.

Peer mentors
The Peer Mentor programme is for any clinical professional to discuss their practice – a team of mentors are available including GPNs, GPs and other health care professionals.
Portfolio Careers
Portfolio careers is open to nursing staff. Funding is available (up to £7,500) for all substantively employed clinical staff to develop portfolio roles and enhance patient care. As examples previously supported areas of interest have included diabetes, minor surgery and end of life care.
