Working Together to be a city of opportunity

Have you just left school, college or university?

Want a change in career?

Enthusiastic to learn whilst you earn?

An apprenticeship with the City of Wolverhampton Council could be for you!

City of Wolverhampton Council offers a range of apprenticeship opportunities, with competitive salaries, internal progression opportunities and workplace mentors to support and develop you throughout your career.

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship gives you on-the-job experience, a salary and the opportunity to train as you work.

  • Earn a salary with on the job training with one of our partner training providers.
  • Gain industry recognised qualifications and certification.
  • Start your long-term career pathway.

What will I learn?

During the apprenticeship you will learn the required knowledge, skills and behaviours specifically designed by leading employers that will give you the building blocks to support your career development.

Am I eligible?

  • There is no age limit to an apprenticeship. If you’re over 16, living in England and not in full time education then an apprenticeship could be perfect for you.
  • You can undertake an apprenticeship at a lower level if you have a degree so long as it is not in the same subject area as your apprenticeship.
  • You cannot undertake more than one apprenticeship at a time and must be eligible to work in the UK.

Education and training raises the level of skills available in the local economy, as well as driving productivity and national prosperity. Economic benefits are generated when education and training helps individuals to achieve a higher level of qualification, increasing their employment prospects, productivity and wages. The City of Wolverhampton Council believe that there is significant scope for growing apprenticeships in a wider variety of our service areas, and our goal is to support managers to increase the recruitment of apprentices.
